1. Overview
This privacy policy explains how StepAway Systems ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses personal data when you visit stepawaysystems.com or engage with our services. We are committed to handling your data lawfully, fairly, and transparently in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Who we are
StepAway Systems is a trading name of Jane Oladeinde, operating as a sole trader based in England. For all data protection enquiries, contact: jane@stepawaysystems.com.
3. What data we collect
We collect data only when you contact us or submit an application:
- Name, email and business details you submit voluntarily
- Information about your business operations you choose to share for a Diagnostic
- Email correspondence between us
This site does not use advertising pixels or analytics tracking. Application forms may be processed through a secure third-party form provider such as Tally. Information submitted through the form is used only to review your application, respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, deliver the agreed service.
4. How we use your data
We use your data only to: review your application, deliver the service you have engaged us for, and communicate with you about that service. We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.
5. Confidentiality during Diagnostics
Any business information shared during a Diagnostic is treated as confidential and used only to complete your Diagnostic. You may redact client names, financial details, passwords or sensitive material before sharing. For pilot case studies, only anonymised patterns and outcomes are used unless you provide written permission otherwise.
6. Retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed to deliver the service and meet UK legal obligations (typically 6 years for HMRC records). After that, data is securely deleted.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Contact jane@stepawaysystems.com to exercise these rights. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8. Updates
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
