Operational Independence Sprint

One process. 14 days. Less founder dependency.

In 14 days, we take one recurring process that relies too heavily on you and turn it into a clearer, documented and delegatable system — without redesigning your entire business.

Format
14-day project window · mostly async
Founding intake rate
£950 fixed fee
Founder time
~45-min kickoff · 30-min handover
Application
No payment taken at application

We look at both sides of the bottleneck: what's missing from the system, and what you've had to do manually to compensate for it.

That might mean remembering, approving, chasing, checking or stepping in to rescue the work. The output is practical, not therapeutic.

Who this is for

Founder-led service and property businesses where one thing keeps coming back to the founder.

We work with founder-led service and property businesses — hospitality and boutique accommodation, serviced accommodation, cleaning and housekeeping, wellness studios and spas, retreats and experiences, and adjacent founder-led businesses with repeatable delivery. Revenue is context, not the qualifier — founder dependency is.

✓ Already trading, with an established service
✓ Employees, contractors or delivery partners who lean on you for decisions
✓ Recurring workflows, with decisions, approvals or questions repeatedly returning to you
✓ Someone who could realistically own the improved process
✓ Able to provide real operational examples and feedback promptly
What the Sprint looks at

The places founder dependency quietly accumulates.

01

Decision flow

What decisions route back to you, what triggers escalation, and where decision rights are unclear.

02

Handovers

Sales-to-delivery, onboarding, project-to-project handovers — where context is lost.

03

Approvals & quality

Where your team waits for sign-off because the "good enough" standard lives in your head.

04

Scope & change control

Where revisions, exceptions and "quick favours" leak in without a rule for what's included.

05

Recurring questions

The same questions your team keeps asking — and where the answer should live instead.

06

Rescue work

Where you step in to fix the team or delivery — and the system gap behind it.

How the Sprint works

Three phases. Built to be used, not filed.

Phase 1 · Days 1–3

Find the dependency

Founder Dependency Snapshot

We identify the recurring dependency, what's causing it and what needs to exist so the process can run with less reliance on you.

Starts with a 45-minute kickoff and review of relevant examples and materials.

Phase 2 · Days 4–10

Build the system

One working system

I build the improved process, documentation and supporting assets needed to make it usable by someone else.

Depending on the process, this might include an SOP, checklist, decision guide, handover, template or practical improvement to an existing tool. Simple automation may be used where appropriate.

Phase 3 · Days 11–14

Transfer ownership

Handover & ownership

We test the system, hand it to a nominated owner and agree a simple 30-day measure so you can tell whether it's holding.

Includes a 30-minute handover.

The 14-day delivery window assumes agreed materials and feedback arrive on time. If required input is delayed, the delivery clock pauses rather than the work being rushed.

What's included & what's not

Tight scope. On purpose.

Included

In the Sprint

  • One primary founder dependency
  • Founder Dependency Snapshot
  • One working system
  • Up to two supporting assets
  • Clear ownership + handover
  • One consolidated refinement
Not included

Not in the Sprint

  • Whole-business redesign
  • Fractional COO / ongoing operational management
  • Unlimited documentation or revisions
  • HR, legal, financial or regulated-compliance advice
  • Complex software, CRM or AI builds
If something falls outside the Sprint scope, I'll tell you before work starts. One process is the scope, not the ceiling — if the Sprint exposes connected dependencies elsewhere in the business, I'll capture them as next-step recommendations. Any additional work is scoped separately.
The buildability checkpoint

If I determine during Find that the dependency can't responsibly be solved within the Sprint, I'll stop before Build begins and refund you — rather than force the wrong problem into the wrong scope.

I'd rather tell you the scope is wrong than sell you a system that won't hold.

Who this isn't for

Probably not a fit right now if —

  • The real issue is HR, legal, financial or regulated compliance
  • You're looking for an ongoing fractional COO or operations retainer
  • You want your whole business documented and systemised at once
  • There's no single recurring bottleneck — everything feels equally unclear
  • You can't commit ~45 minutes for kickoff or one consolidated feedback round within the 14 days
  • You're not able to provide relevant materials within 48 hours of kickoff
None of this is a judgement on the business — it just means a 14-day Sprint isn't the right shape of help yet. I'll say so plainly during Find if that turns out to be the case.
